Wow. Great to see such sharp writing in service of a concise summation of the subject. Mehdi is a sophist who profits off the degraded state of the discourse he’s contemporary to. Someone in the 5th chat linked a small panel show where PJ O’rourke and Christopher Hitchens discussed & debating Reagan. The audience who watched that wouldn’t tolerate such a lightweight like Mehdi, much less the media institutions who hosted such discussions.

Unfortunately whether a 2 state solution is proposed or not, it’s ever coming into existence is something the Palestinians have no control over, not even a meaningful seat at the table.

The United Nations, who the British handed the partition over to, offered the Palestinians a 2 state setup prior to partition in 1947. It was rejected by all other Arab countries as it still is. I imagine because implicit in recognising a separate state of Palestine would be to do the same for the geographic boundaries of Israel that they are committed to wiping off the map. Anwar Sadat was assassinated by Egyptian Muslims for trying to strike a peace deal with Israel. Arab countries declared war on Israel at the same time as Israel was formed. Called the Palestine wars.

Israel has offered the Palestinians the same on 4, possibly 5 occasions since then, even ceding back land they took in the wars to try and achieve a 2 state solution.

The number of Arabic population that were expelled or chose to leave the newly partitioned area of Israel seems to differ between 260,000 and 700,000. I am not aware of how violent this expulsion was but I would expect it included military methods that Israel should rightly be condemned, and are. However many Arabic people decided to stay in Israel and today they form the 3rd largest political party in Israel. Israel having been set up as a secular, liberal, pluralist, democracy which it remains to this day. You will note that we have heard no comment at all from these Israeli based Muslims since the Palestinians attacked Israel in October 2023, starting the current war.

But not mentioned by anyone, that I have heard so far, is that many Arabic countries did carry out a greater ethnic cleansing after partition, expelling 813,000 Mizrahi Jews from their countries. Dispossessing and chasing them out and probably a lot worse, for which they also should be condemned but are not. That is the official number and I could provide the totals from separate Arab countries, but the actual number is likely much higher. But nobody seems to know this.

Israel has no negotiable way forward to make their position any more favourable or safe given the commitment of Hamas, Hezbollah and Arab states never to recognise the state of Israel or a state of Palestine existing with Israel and to wipe Israel out. Any pause in the conflict is only that and allows the Muslim militants to re group and re arm. Everyone, internationally, in either camp is aware of this.

It is frustrating how no one mentions this stuff..I mean, they do, but the only ppl who are gonna watch Douglas Murray and Elica le Bon’s videos are ppl like me who understand the truth, or maybe some hate-watching anti-Semites who already have their minds made up. It needs to be spread far and wide but our voices are far fewer than the pro-Palestine lot.

just to clarify - the Arab nations that attacked Israel at its founding, told the Arabs to flee and that they would come back to a Jew-free Arab-run state. While their may have been some dispossessing and 'chasing out', it is widely acknowledged that hundreds and thousands left freely, encouraged by their Arab brethren in anticipation of returning triumphant to an annihilated Israel. When Israel won, is when these Arabs suddenly became victims who'd had their land 'stolen', and many years after that, took up the Palestinian identity under Arafat, after their Arab brethren refused to take them in and assimilate them into their countries, despite being the ones who told them to leave Israel in the first place. Parking them in refugee camps and giving them 2nd class status, allowed the arabs to use the displaced Palestinians as eternal pawns in their war against Israel.

You are making an excellent point to be reminded and let’s not forget the complicity of the United Nations for securing a special and only refugee status that is granted for future generations.

Funny, I had never heard of Mehdi Hasan, Abu Mohammad, bin Muhammad, descendant of pigs and apes. Thanks for your takedown. Europe: always remember Vienna 1683.
